As common in French ski resorts, all residences are, located on or close to the slopes. That means you´re able to jump out of bed into your boots, literally. Still some energy left after skiing and boarding? No problem, the „centre sportif“ which is located in the village centre offers you some more sporting possibilities. There you can find a squash- and volleyball- court, a swimmingpool and a sauna, too.
Lack of food and beverage? No problem either, shopping possibilites are just a stone´s throw away.
And by night, Val Thorens shows it´s face as a party- stronghold...
Val Thorens- the skiing area
Framed by several 3000 meter high mountains, Val Thorens as the highest ski village in Europe is located at an altitude of 2300 meters. In Val Thorens itself, there are 140 kilometres of slopes waiting to be discovered. The altitude allows excellent skiing conditions and a great panoramic view over the French, Italian and Swiss alps with more than 1000 summits. Of course without climbing: a modern lift carries you up to „Cime de Caron“, the best spot to see the whole area.
Trois Vallées- the largest connected skiing area on earth
The Trois Vallées with their highest point at 3230 metres are the largest connected skiing- area on our lovely planet. With 200 lifts and 600 kilometres of slopes, the Trois Vallees offer you endless possibilities to get in touch with powder. Due to easy slopes which connect the different ski stations it is no problem even for beginners to discover the whole area. Besides all degrees of difficulties ( easy slopes: 312km; medium slopes: 216km; difficult slopes: 72km ) the off-piste varieties seem endless, too...
Snow Park Val Thorens
Since 2007, the new snowpark ( www.snowparkvalthorens.com) of Val Thorens offers a huge amount of kickers and rails for every level of experience. It is located right above the Grand Fond gondola. There, the “plateau” t-bar lift with its function as the snowpark- lift allows you to exit exactly at the kicker of your desire. All ski- and boardercross contests take place here.

Snow-Guarantee
Due to the altitude and very good climatic conditions, snow can be guaranteed from the end of November until April. In average, 10 metres of snow fall during a season. If not, the huge amount of snow cannons ensures skiing fun anyway.
